Sunkist Site Redesign
Sunkist, well-known citrus growers, had a site that had been designed years ago. It was a mess — the UI, UX, look & feel, voice, everything — needed an overhaul. And not just the Consumer site, but also Foodservice, Retail, and Growers sites as well.
Here’s a glimpse of the original site design:
We took this bull by the horns and did it right: starting with a content strategy, moving to UX and mood boards, then into UI, and finally design and development. Once the site was fully designed, Sunkist asked us to create a style guide based on the website so that they could distribute it for all digital and collateral material moving forward.
I won’t get into the details of the pre-design rounds, but suffice it to say we had over 25 wireframes for the consumer site alone, one round of mood boards, and a rolling schedule of production. We fully embraced the long scroll, built it in WordPress with a client-friendly back end, told stories, made parts of it interactive, and yes, it’s fully responsive.
I’ll post just a few of the final designs here for you to peruse, but please ask if you like to see any more designs, the wires, or just want to pick my brain about it the process as a whole. I was involved from beginning to end.
